Houdini Wall Breaker:
Procedural Destruction Tool
Procedural Tool Development
June 2025
Houdini, Unreal Engine 5
This project showcases a fully procedural Wall Breaker Tool built in Houdini, designed to generate realistic brick-wall destruction with full artistic control. The tool creates custom hole shapes, natural break patterns, fragmented bricks, and detailed edge damage, all driven by node-based logic and VEX.
While the tool itself was not exported as a usable plugin for Unreal Engine due to licensing limitations.
I showcased the final destruction results inside Unreal to demonstrate how the outputs from the Houdini tool can be integrated into a real-time environment. The workflow highlights a production-oriented approach: generating procedural variations in Houdini and presenting the final meshes, shading, and lighting inside Unreal.
This project demonstrates skills in procedural modeling, HDA development, VEX scripting, Voronoi fracturing, destructible asset workflows, and delivering game-ready results from Houdini pipelines.
